The YADA Program

The YADA program is delivered in two days and divided between Primary and Intermediate grades. The event begins with individual grade levels going through interactive booths that offer experiential learning of disabilities. Booths are sponsored by various disability organizations to provide fun for children while learning what it might be like to have a disability.

At the end of each day there is a general assembly where we encourage children to ask questions and share what they have learned. Our speakers share their lives in an enthusiastic and extraordinary way that leaves children empowered and sensitive to disabilities.

In addition to the event itself, we would like to provide the opportunity for teachers to further educate their students about certain disabilities.  Organizations can provide age appropriate materials in the form of videos, games, activity sheets, etc … that offer additional, more in depth information.
